Thought for the Day

The other day the Lord reminded me of this verse in Revelation which says, “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony…”(Revelation 12:11) I just want to remind you that your testimony is important. It is the other way in which we overcome after Jesus’ blood has washed us. What is your testimony? Share it with others, and when the accuser of the brethren tries to put lying and deceitful thoughts into your mind remind him of your testimony and that you are washed in the blood of the Lamb.

Why do we go to Church?

"Some people go to church just for the service-and some go to meet with God. Some go only for the ornateness of the worship; some truly worship by the Spirit of God. Some go to hear the preacher's sermon; some go to hear from God."
                                                 R.T. Kendall
When I read this it made me stop and ask myself "why do I go to church?". Like me, maybe you never really thought about it before. So I thought I'd make you stop and think, by sharing it with all of you. ;)

Hunger is No Game

Since when do we let everyone but our Savior define what we do with our life and how we spend our oh so precious and short time on this planet? Since when do we let this world lead us by their example? We all know that they do whether we want to admit it or not. God has made us better than that. We were made to lead. First, we have to change our habits that we have picked up from movies, music and the latest trend we got from the mall! When did we decide that our hunger for what we would call fun or pleasure, but is really just true joy, can be satisfied by going to bed with the world and all it stands for. The only thing that will truly satisfy this viable hunger, is a taste of the truth of God's word and a real relationship with Someone who will not ditch us or talk about us behind our back. Our Father and friend, our Savior Jesus Christ of Nazareth. His unending love is real and he's waiting for us to seek Him and to make Him the first place we go ... for everything! When this happens, joy, true joy that we can't even come close to comprehending until we taste of it, is ours! I'm not just talking to those who have never even heard of God! I am talking to you and me, the ones who think they have a good understanding of God and His Word. The ones that have gone to church all their life and think that for the most part they have it all together. You will never have it all together until you are truly willing to give all you have to follow Christ! And I don't just mean when you have the " boldness" to SAY that you would but when you have the BOLDNESS to LIVE like you would!

"But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was
bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was
upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed."
