Wise Words

Recently, God has been convicting me about using my words wisely. My parents have told me often to watch what I say and ask myself if what I’m saying is edifying to others. God has given me two great examples of this in my life. My Dad and Mom are always encouraging others. Although they are both very different in the way they express themselves, they are wonderful examples of sensibility. For instance, my mom is often quiet. When she does speak to someone she is thoughtful, loving, and wise. I rarely (if ever) hear her saying something thoughtless. Now, God has given my dad the gift of making people feel comfortable and at ease when they are around him. So he may crack a joke during a conversation. Although, he may not be as quiet as my mom, he is still using wisdom with his words. He and Mom are always motivating people to love God and obey Him. I hope I can be more like them as they strive to be more like Christ.

  1. Wonderful post!
This is certainly true of your parents, and something that I have been thinking of also :)

  2. Kristin,
I appreciate your honesty, this is something I too have struggled with from a very young age. (Would you believe I talk to much. :D) But it has been such a blessing to be surrounded by those who model wisdom and discretion such as my parents and other families at GFBC.

"Say to Wisdom, you are my sister, and call insight your intimate friend." Psalm 7:4
